Day 8: Prom Dress

I spent a very long time today finishing the arm holes. It took a very long time to stitch everything down by hand in a way that was not visible. I also had to fix the seam on the sides of the top because that was where I went a little bit over my seam allowance so after I fixed that it fit really well.

I started the skirt today. I cut out and sewed the bottom layer of the skirt but I cut it a smidge too big so I just need to bring it in about an inch and then it’ll be fine.

I ran out of thread today. This was a problem because thread is generally something essential to sewing, so I walked to Jo-Ann’s. I realized as I walked past my elementary school that when the current kindergartners graduate high school I will be thirty which was a scary thought. Taking that walk was probably not great for my allergies.

I worked from 8 am-5:30 pm (9 and a half hours).
