Day 5: Prom Dress

Today I finished the mock-up for my dress but I think when I make the actual dress I’m going to add an inch or two more to the measurement for the skirt’s width. I also still have to hem the bottom of the dress but I had 44″ muslin and the rest of my fabric is 54″ so I’m not worried about having problems with that. I decided not to put any chiffon on top of the satin layer on the top because I don’t like the way the chiffon looks with darts in it, but I will still be using the chiffon on the skirt.

I also have to go and buy the right needles for the materials I am using because I forgot to do that. Hopefully I can do that over the weekend and also get matching thread and some beads. And a zipper.

Also my dress has pockets 🙂

So far this week there’s been days where I’ve spoken to people all day and then other days where I haven’t spoken to hardly anyone at all which is a bit weird because I’m used to seeing people every day at school so it’s odd to not see everybody every day. Other than that my work environment is pretty good. Earlier this week there were people installing new floors in parts of my house so that was very very very loud but now they’re done with that so it’s much quieter now.

Today I worked from 8 am-3 pm (7 hours).
