I’m taking a break from hemming the prom dress for a few days because I’ve been working on it for so long that I wanted to give it a little break so I can have a fresh start on hemming it. It’s not that I feel tired of it it’s just that I think I will do a better job hemming it if I have a few days to not work on that specific project.
I started my dress for graduation. It’s linen and I’m lining some parts of it with an unbleached muslin so you can’t see through it. I spent a long time today researching different types of dresses to try and get ideas for my dress. I figured that I could use the pattern from the top of my prom dress and just add sleeves so I did that, which means since I basically didn’t have to make any new patterns besides the sleeves. I spent a very long time making sure that all of my stripes lined up in a way that I liked.
I also dropped a pin in my sewing machine today and I couldn’t reach it to get it out so I guess that’s just going to live there now. Whoops…
Today I worked from 8 am-5 pm (8 hours).
