Day 15: Prom Dress

Today I sewed the beads onto my dress, I used some little tiny green seed beads and then some slightly larger glass beads that were blue and green and they sort of looked like little tiny globes but not spherical. I did three seed beads and one big bead in a pattern all around the waistline.

I also bought some gray striped linen for making a dress for graduation but I still have to draw up a pattern for that. I got some darker colored muslin to use as a lining because the linen is a little bit see-through.

I also forgot to make a hole for the pockets on the top chiffon layer so I did that and I also stitched it to the satin layer so that I am actually able to access the pockets and I don’t have to fish through four layers of fabric to get my phone out of my pocket.

I’ll probably hem this later this week.

I think that it turned out really well so far, I did have some problems at some points with having to re-sew things a few times but I think that was because I wanted to to turn out really well whereas in some other projects I might have just left the problem and moved on. Also I think that my room is cleaner now that it was before because now I’m making a conscious effort to keep my room clean because I’m sewing every day so if I didn’t clean every day it would just add up and be a big mess.

Today is Sunday but I did some work because I didn’t work on Friday because of senior day. I worked from 9 am-5:30 pm (8 and a half hours).
