Day 13: Prom Dress

I decided to re-sew the arm holes today because I didn’t like the way that the original ones were sitting. In that process I started sewing before putting my machine on the right stitch, which then led to me breaking a needle and then I realized I should probably clean my machine while I was at it.

Re-sewing the armholes took forever because I had to sew almost all of that by hand, and I also adjusted a few things by hand. I also sewed the opening for the zipper in the top layer of the skirt.

I’m basically almost done with this I just have to sew the top to the bottom of the dress and then hem it but I’m not going to hem it until I have my shoes.

Apparently some people expected that I’d put pockets but the lights are a surprise.

As this project is coming to an end I will have to find one or two other shorter projects to work on for the next week or so. I think I might make something to wear for graduation.

While my schedule has been fairly regular every day I do appreciate having the ability to just stop when I’m tired as long as I eventually make up the hours.

Today I worked from 8 am-2 pm (6 hours).
